Soon after the horses are delivered to Ali’s family to help save them, a very complicated process given their state of neglect. Ali doesn’t want to get attached; she’s still heartbroken over losing her own horse in a tragic accident. Ali’s family is also dealing with her older brother’s return from the war with both physical and medical scars, but with all that’s going on he develop an interest in helping her with her new responsibilities. A wonderful story that covers many issues.
