This is book 2 of the series and although I like the first book, at times it seemed a bit silly to me. However, this book developed much better. It is a nice cozy mystery with great dynamics between Liza and Jack. Jack and Liza have formed a detective agency. As they try to solve two crimes at the same time, Lisa leaves for a girls weekend with her friends. Of course, she gets involved with another mystery. As if she doesn't have enough going on, her perfect sister comes back to the states with her issues. Lots going on in this book and it is all handled very well. Never a dull minute.

Liza is really pretty funny and has a great personality. This series has it all, good mysteries, a bit of romance, and a lot of laughs.

Dog Eat Dog is the second funny book in the Liza Radley Housewife Detective series written by author Jenna Mattison.
This is a cute funny story, the main character is very much alive and the story seems to be real enough to the
current. It would make a funny TV series
I finished the first book in this series at like2 or 3 a.m. and instantly went in search of Dog Eat Dog. I was not disappointed!,
I love Jenna's writing style, sense of humor and they way she builds her characters and their relationships. I was thoroughly entertained and lost myself in Liza's world for a few hours. I love it when an author takes me away from reality but then I am always sad when it's over. Now I will patiently (yeah right lol) wait for the next escapade. Thank you Jenna Mattison!
The character, Liza Radley is awesome and I hope everyone reads these books so they can fall in love with her too!! Jenna Mattison has created such a fun series with fun and hysterical characters that everyone can relate to… maybe I'm just saying that because I'm food obsessed, just like Liza. But seriously, read these books!! Ms Mattison's economy of words and the internal dialogue she writes for her characters makes for a very funny read. I love reading what Liza is thinking. Dog eat Dog is the perfect sequel to Eye Spy and I can't wait to see what comes next!
I enjoyed the second book in this series. There were a lot of mysteries jam packed in this one. I'm excited to see where Liza's newfound independence takes her with Jack.
Sometimes you are biting your thumb nail because of the suspense....sometimes you are laughing out loud...sometimes you are sooooo agreeing with the philosophy/view in life that you are shaking your head with the word "YES" ringing in your ears and sometimes you are reading with a smile plastered on your face...only words of advice is start with book one....looking sooooo forward to the next adventure....Hats Off To You Jenna!
I'm writing this review from the perspective of having read both “Eye Spy” and “Dog Eat Dog”, the first two (and only, so far) books in the Liza Radley series. My short advice read on, enjoy, and muscle through the typos. The stories are worth it.

These are entertaining, engaging books—very fun light reading, yes, but with character development that had me rethinking my opinion of the protagonist and her friends/family/enemies, and enough twists and turns in the plot to keep me happily turning pages. Other reviewers have noted similarities between these books and the Stephanie Plum series, and there are some superficial ones, but that doesn’t diminish my pleasure in this particular plucky heroine and her world.

As others also have noted, the books are beset with copyediting errors. These irritate me, too, because they take me out of the story and make me focus on the words on the page rather than the story in my mind. But I’m hopeful that as Ms. Mattison continues, these technical issues will be resolved. I’m looking forward to the next installment.
